Hey guys, so like the title suggests i'm looking at getting a proper vessel for mashing instead of doing Brew in a Bag.

What do you think? I'm also on a budget and looking for something under $100 preferably.

How bout this whole setup? Total bargain.

That does sound great, but i don't got the money.

Keep an eye on it. He may be willing to split if someone doesn't snap it up.

you can have my old mash tun for free, 45lt esky, all you will need to do is install a thermowell (ed: for a mashmaster type thermometer) and a tap.. can take a piccie for you if you want..

you can even have most of the manifold that went with it as I rebuilt most of it to suit my new mash tun.

small investment up fromt. U aint going to get a better full setup for that price. If you have other components the you can sell those off to offset the outlay of that rig. Easy.

Or, you know, take advantage of Yob's endless generosity and not install a themorowell but just poke a thermometer in the mash at the critical times and make beer for FREE.

Cheap eskies are rad. Free eskies are radder. Spend the savings on your manifold/FB or tight-arse on that one too and put the difference into your first batch(es).

(Batch(es)? Batch(es)?! We don't need no stinkin' batch(es).)

What size? What type?

I'd be jumping at yob's offer unless you dream of identical stainless pots all lined up in a row at bargain basement prices.

Grab Yob's offer. Even a rubber bung with a thermometer through it works perfectly fine. Cut out a hole, stuck a rubber bung in it, then a 6" thermometer through the bung. Leak free on my first test.

$50 you have a large mash tun with thermometer and manifold. Perfect.

The said esky already has the hole for the mashmaster, I've removed it and will eventually install it on my new MT, the hole could easily be plugged, even comes with a free lid...

If OP doesn't want it, offer is open to anyone else looking to get into AG and needs a cheap arse, well used, slightly stained MT.

Cheers
