Woody Harrelson has confessed he agreed to help launch a new German TV station under false pretences - he only travelled to Europe so he go to a famous beer festival.

The actor stopped off in Munich in October on his way to London - where he is about to star in a West End play - to help push new network Das Vierte.

But the party-loving former Cheers star had more on his mind than professional obligations - he was desperate to experience the city's famous Oktoberfest.

He says, "I gotta admit the main reason I was psyched out to go was not out of my big allegiance to Das Vierte, but out of my desire to hit Oktoberfest again after some 10 years."
