Hey guys first brew and 3 days later melbourne hits 34 degrees as I'm brewing a mangrove jack (starter kit I requested for my bday) blonde lager how bad will this affect my brew says on the packet over 25 can affect flavour ( esp in lager ) can't keep it in the house so I have put it in a wardrobe in my shed. Also it's going down to 16 tonight should I be turning on the heat belt. I'm a chef and followed kit instructions properly. Will be using kits till I get the hang of it any tips etc would be great, next up is a black rock Pilsner blonde can
 
Hey, welcome to the community.

As this is your first brew, relax, don't worry too much.

Off flavours usually develop early on in the fermentation, so 3 days later you should be OK. Ideally you should ferment in a temperature controlled environment, but for someone just starting out you will be OK. At the end of the day, if you make beer then you are winning. If you enjoy it, even better.

Don't worry about the heat belt at this stage. The 16deg overnight should not create any problems.

Good idea found a few others, it been six days tested today sg I think is 1010, will look again in 2 days but should I add gelatine now? Although I may not bottle till next Tuesday read somewhere 2 weeks in fermenter is ok for a lager
 
Ok second Sg is I think 1004 but nut sure how well I'm reading hydrometer smelling like beer tastes ok maybe safe to bottle tonight?
 
Probably finished, but wait for same reading over 2 days. Never hurts to leave a bit longer anyway. Allows the yeast to clean up a few nasties etc.
