MELB: Eastern suburbs beer/food venue

I'm looking for a place to meet up with some old mates for dinner & a couple of beverages. We're geographically distributed, but the middle ground is eastern suburbs, somewhere in the region of Glen Waverley - Burwood or through to Ringwood.
Can anybody recommend a place with good beer, that either supplies or allows good food?

The Public Brewery in Croydon has a huge range of Aussie craft beer as well as their own beers brewed on premises. The burgers and chips are the best I've tasted in a long time. Only five minutes down the road from Ringwood.
No affiliation aside from being a happy customer.
A bit limited on space so it helps to get there early though.

Just took silver for their light beer at AIBA. Not feckin' easy to brew! Congrats to Brendo and crew!
