McChouffe

Dark Ale, strong, spicy, lightly hoppy, with evoluting taste. Natural Beer, bottle refermented, unfiltered, not pasteurised and without any additives

Very mellow, easy drinking, or more appropriately a sipping beer, due to the 8% alc. Ive shared a bottle with stuster at the Belgium Cafe but found it in stock today at Dan's Eastwood. Cant wait till fri night ;)

cheers

I recall trying this beer a few years back. Very nice from memory, bit like the La Chouffe, spicy and fruity, but with some added dark malt complexities.

This one looks interesting! Anyone ever tried something like this?

L Esprit dAchouffe is an Eau de Vie, distillated from 5 years old Beer.

Bottle size : painted stone Crocks, 50 cl

Description : Delightful Eau de vie, tasting like a
grappa .

Alcohol level : 40% alc./vol.

Storage : keep in the fridge or in the freezer

Serve at : from 0 to10C in a 4 cl glass

Eau de Vie, now there is an idea. :icon_drunk:

I have really struggled to finish the bottles of McChouffe that I have tried, I just didnt find it drinkable

Yep - I can't say I enjoyed it all that much. I found it tasted like a very bitter whisky, totally unbalanced.
