I was looking at buying some air-cell building insulation but bunnings only sells it in big rolls. Any idea where to get a small off cut of this or similar gear to insulate my mash tun?

Cheers
Carl

I use an esky as a mash tun. Don't know what you use.
I use one of those camping type mattresses, and cut a piece to size to fit under the mash tun, and another to fit around the outside. Fix it with gaffer tape. Some people use bubble wrap.
Also, I have a piece cut out to fit on top of my mash, basically to insulate it from the air space at the top of the esky. I think it works, as the surface in contact with the mash is warm, but the upper surface is cool. I lose no more than 1C during an hour long mash.

Sorry should have mentioned that I use a SS pot. I did use a camping mat b4 but mates staffy got into it. The air-cell stuff is nice and shiny and I think would work better.

I think it would be cheaper by buying 20 metres of the stuff than driving out there, but cheers for the offer :).

The way it's going though who knows!!

You can't buy it by the metre?

Last time I looked it was about $15 a metre.

What Bunnings are you going to?
