Hi again guys,

What is the process of running the pump? Does it need liquid in it before i turn it on? Would it require oil? I just turned it on and it made a high pitched screech am I turned straight off. I have had it for about a year but never used it.

Cheers guys

Yes, let gravity get liquid in the pump before turning it on. Otherwise it makes a "high pitched screech".

some models have a 'pinhole' just around where the pump joins the motor for adding a few drops of oil. i think its a 6 or 12 mth thing.

Mine made the same noise when first used, found I had the input and output arse about. Sounds like something is fouling the fan or a dry bearing right? Had mine mounted the right way up with the oil holes for the bearings on the top, so gave it a couple of drops of light machine oil, swapped the hoses and let gravity fill the pump head then turned it on, made a bit of a screech then all was fine. Contacted Process Pumps, they advised if it did it again or for a prolonged period to return it. Has been running for long periods without a peep for 6 months brewing around once a week.
