thats right get the F*** out. unless you have heaps of time or no kids or are on the dole its ******* hard work and not worth the picking out of ants weevils and shitty looking grains. Even to malt 2kg of grain it is quite a lot of grain. having a oven run at 50c for 24 hours is a pain in the arse and heats the hole house up. then you need to remove the chit and root systems. either by rubbing or rolling. its a pain in the arse rubbing in a stainless steel strainer and the removal of skin from your hands is a painful experience too.

so then there is crushing the grain. which isnt as painful.

so i will never sift through my 20L bucket of barley to malt it ever again. its going to be left to the weevils and to all those who malt there own grain for there beer. i tip my lid cause i ain't doing this shit ever again!!
