Hey Guys,

I've been majorly inactive here in the past 2 months or so. I havent brewed in nearly 3 months now.

Had a lot of work and private commitments, but as summer is now approaching I must start dedicating more time to more important things, like beer :D

I plan to put down at least one brew in the next two weeks, and one a fortnight after that. Keep the stocks up!

Anyone got some interesting style suggestions? :) Preferably something that can be done extract/specialty, or part mash if needed.

you better hurry along kook that infamous hot perth weather is not far away.that may slow you down a bit.
pale ales seem very popular at the moment going by a few sites.
ive just put down the twoc hbs/bibra lake version of sierra nevada pale ale that i bought when on holidays in perth recently.deebee has also put this one down but slightly varied so will be interesting to compare notes.

gday ken
unfortunately i cant as it comes in a kit just like grumpys masterbrew bags.the grains and hop flowers are packed seperately in a muslin bag.
the instructions divulge the following though.no weights given...
light malt
dark malt
dextrose
powdered corn syrup
crystal grain 60*
cascade pellets.....and no mention of the abundant hop flowers.
hope this may be of some help

Kook,

With summer coming up fast, I've started focusing on Pilsners and Wheat beers.
Will be kegging a wheat beer tonight.
Kegged a Pilsner last week.

Beers,
Doc

"Iron Wolf Weizen"
Partial mash.

1.7Kg ESB Liquid Wheat Malt
250g Light DME
1.0Kg Wheat Malt
1.0Kg Pale Ale Malt (or Pilsener Malt or whatever - light colour)
30g Hallertauer hop pellets 60 mins.
DCL Safale K-97 yeast (sold as "SafWheat")

OG 1.047
12.9 IBU
4.5 SRM

EDIT: Ooops, that'd be 1.0Kg of pale ale malt, not 1.9!
