Thanks for that!
As an arachnaphobe I think I just coughed in my rompers!

Somebody get me a SFPA and a new pair of trousers...

All of you arachnophobes will be glad to know they're not spiders at all, but are in a class of their own: solifugae. (Hint: count the legs, spiders have 8).

If you want to keep them as pets, the "caresheet" is linked at the bottom of the snopes article that fiscus linked to. Mmmm they like to eat a LOT!

after seeing this, im wondering if this isnt a war on terror, but a war on big bugs.... holy crap im having a starship troopers flashback!

Well I counted 8 legs so maybe not a spider but, like ticks and scorpions, it's an arachnid. Probably delicious toasted on the coals and served with a satay sauce Iraqi style.

I'm going to come out as a vegetarian here... even when I ate animals I steered away from carnivores.

Anyway, I counted 10 legs. Better grab another beer :)

Ohmigod, you're right there are ten legs there. Where is Sigourney Weaver when you need her?
