Do any of you know (or have any good guesses as to) what's in Lion Stout? It won't be my next stout, but I wouldn't mind making one with the creamy, smooth, chocolatey taste that this beer seems to have nailed down. However, while I appreciate the taste, aroma, and head retention, I am not quite able to pick out all of the grains used aside from chocolate and maybe a little roasted barley. For an 8% beer it's amazingly smooth.

Any recommendations or successful recipes/clones?

-Cheers

yes that's a beautiful beer.
According to Protz it's got Czech, Danish and English malts, Styrian hops and an English ale yeast. MJ claims it's all malt.
i'd guess something like pilsener malt for the base, lots of crystal and lots of chocolate malt and a fair whack of roast barley.
good luck, seems like one of those beers that would take years to get close to at home - might as well buy it instead.
