had a temp control issue (went up to 26c) but overall pretty happy with the first batch. Haven't had a LCPA for a while and I think it tasts nothing like it but will buy a sixer (for good measure :) ) and compare.

Used the expensive liquorcraft clone with the carapils and hop tea:

Good enough, inspired enough to do gooder!

Dont get hung up on replicating comercial beers, even the micro-brewery ones are made to a price
and they have to try and turn a profit. A half decent home brewer will soon surpass a commercial brew.
Have as your goal to brew better than you can buy in the shop.

And never forget that a comparable microbrew brew costs over $5 a schooner,
so when I bottle 30 longnecks that's $300 worth of beer, what a saving!

oh yeah, it's got the twang, but drinkable with a bit of body coming out at the end, describing taste is hard! Pretty much what I expected from the first brew. Bottled late March so it should be good to drink.

Going to brew without cans and see if I can get rid of the twang, based on what some other brewers on this forum have observed.
