Leaking S.Steel beer disconnect - Help please.

I have a problem with my stainless steel/brass beer disconnect that I dismantled for a thorough cleaning after years of disuse. Is there a specific tool for tightening these things? Should I just use vice grips to do it (that's how I dismantled it in the 1st place)? Would I wreck it? Have I already??

Or should I just chuck it & get a new one?

Multi grips should work fine, i do most things hand tight and works for me
