Fellow Brewers,

Making a kolsch style beer this weekend, as i has my first infection with the other one so had to tip it. :(

Grain bill is:

4.5 kg german pils
200g german carahelles
200g german carapil

Wyeast 1007, 3rd gen.

Please feel free to critique.

Thanks,

Andrew

Steve,

was going to use Hallertau for bittering and saaz for flavour and aroma.

I was asking more about the grain bill, ie. add some munich, drop the carapils etc.

Andrew.

I'd lose the Carapils & Carahell. Maybe all Pils malt and a touch of wheat if you want.

G'day Agraham.
Just did my first last Sunday. 90% pils malt, 10% wheat malt. SG 1.046. Hallertau 27 IBU and 2565 kolsck yeast. Good luck ! :D

This Recipe,on the weyerman site points towards simplicity in the grain bill, and also a cool mash temp.
Its on my to do list(one day  )

Type Pilsner, wheat and carahell into beertools.com and it's pretty much the grain breakdown I use for my Kolsch. Turns out great :chug:

Cheers.
