This bulkhead looks like it would work well with your reducing bush to fit into a T-piece housing a thermowell in a CFC arrangement. I want to swap out my dial thermometer for a digital one (linked to my CraftBeerPi so I can check the progress of chilling from the couch) Ideally then I'll buy a couple of your solenoids and an aquarium pump so I can move to my second stage of chilling (also remotely) from an ice-slurry esky.

https://www.kegland.com.au/stainless-reducing-bush-1-2inch-x-1-4inch.html

My question is - is it easy to push the thermowell all the way through the bulkhead? Could one push it through accidentally and end up with wort everywhere, or does one insert the tube backwards? I watched the video but it didn't show the insertion.

The thermowell is a fairly tight fit in the bulkhead. If you lubricate or at least wet the thermowell it is easier to push through.

If you do not want to push the tube too far accidentally I would suggest you make a small score in the tube with the pipe cutter and this will give you a tactile click when the teeth of the push in fitting hit this part. It also gives the teeth something to bite into so it doesnt accidentally slide further easily.

Any update on the Malt-Zilla?

The first production batch of these have been ordered but we do not have the exact arrival date yet. Sorry for the long delay. This has taken a lot longer than we thought to get finished.

One thing that has been pushed forward and is getting released next week though is our Series X kegerator. So this product is actually getting released ahead of time.

Why are some of the push-fittings "monotight" rather than "duotight"? I presume they're branded that way due to only having a single o-ring, but I can't see any rhyme or reason which fittings get a duotight version and which come out as a monotight instead.

The monotight fittings have one o-ring. These were manufactured before we came up with the duotight fittings that have two o-rings. The duotight fittings were introduced in mid 2018 and prior to this they were all monotight fittings.

Any plans on creating smaller vessels for pressure fermenting? 12L is my full batch size but perhaps would also be useful for folk splitting batches and experimenting.

Any chance of stocking a Rheem keg seal/rebuild kit?

I have 5x of these solid units all needing new seals.

And various sizes are still trickling on to your website now? So if I wait long enough I should expect that Duotight versions of all the existing push fittings will show up?

How old is the silicone tube. If the silicone dip tube gets exposed to high percentage acid (such as sanitiser that is too concentrated) this can cause it to split.

We have also upgraded the silicone dip tube so it has thicker wall. This was done a couple months ago so the tube was more resistant to splitting and can handle some degree of chemical attack. So if you get this one it's the thicker type:

order it end of July, received in August, had 6 brews through it, I have it inserted in the float tube no probs, but over ther metal connector in the lid, this is where it splits from, cut if short fresh & then kept spliting as soon as it was on.
but seriusly only good for less than 3 months? the parts you linked to is what I used also

Could you please link the hose to use in this? I'd like to get some more but can't find it.

At the moment we have been in the process of upgrading the silicon tube thickness on this part.

So we have this new product that has the upgraded silicon tube:
https://www.kegland.com.au/fermzilla-55l-ss-float-80cm-silicone-dip-tube.html

with that said if you were happy with the original silicon tube that came with that 4-inch tri-clover lid then you can get this part as a replacement:

We have not decided to do this yet. We might make a pressure rated container that is 8L in size but the opening at the top of this would only be less than 40mm. These may not be finished until mid next year.

We have been considering making the ball lock posts with 1/2 male thread and this seems to be the main expensive part that customers can't seem to get hold of. So this is something that will possibly come into stock in the future. Is this the part you are after?

It comes down to volumes. As you can imagine the tooling cost for these injection moulds are quite expensive so if we cant get the volume then we will probably not upgrade to duotight tooling. Some of the low volume fittings might never be upgraded to duotight.

if you upgrade to the new floating dip tube I am pretty sure you fill find this problem to be fixed. So if you get this new one:
https://www.kegland.com.au/fermzilla-55l-ss-float-80cm-silicone-dip-tube.html

The tube wall thickness is thicker and more resistant to that type of cracking. The only issue is we do not sell this particular dip tube as a replacement part yet so you need to get the whole assembly above. I think in future we will stock this upgraded tube as a spare part separately.

Hi @KegLand-com-au, how do you recommend these be cleaned and sanitised? Can they be dismantled for cleaning?

Thanks,

https://www.kegland.com.au/5-8-stainless-ball-valve-female-x-male-for-keg-couplers.html

If you want to fully dismantle this fitting you can take apart the ball valve with an allen key. So if you remove the valve from the product it's attached to. Then on the inlet side use an alley key to take apart the inside of the valve then the stainless ball will fall out. This enables you to take the nylon seals out.

The only thing you should really be aware of is that when you do the allen key up it should not be overtightened. The tightness of this alley key bolt will adjust the seal compression. Too little and it will leak and too much and your nylon seals will wear out prematurely.

I would be very interested in this too
