This might sound stupid at first, but bear with me...

I'd love to be able to purchase a standard old 10/15/20/25 litre stockpot with a sealing lid much like the SS Brewtech brewbucket lids.
So it would basically be a stainless bucket that can be sealed. I'd buy a bunch of these in different sizes and they'd be great for doing smaller batches, splitting batches etc.
It would/could have a rotating racking arm like the brewbucket and hole at the top for blowoff/airlock.

I hate using plastic fermenters, but this would at least be a step up from a bucket and a plastic tap.

I've tried doing it with stockpots in the past but it was pretty clumsy trying to get gaskets and the right lids as well as something to clamp them down.

+1 to requests for stainless unitanks, also a fan of the Spike equipment but not prepared to go through the expensive pain of importing from the US

30L and 60L vessels would be my preference, if they look decent and are well priced I'd probably grab one of each

There are these available.

If you make a well prices stainless conical you'll break the heart of a man that just lashed out on a SS 14 gal chronical......yesterday.

Hold off for a bit would you..

Yeah they are probably even a bit fancier than I was thinking - being able to serve from them would be a cool feature though I suppose.

This one - https://www.homebrewerlab.com/product/pot-au-keep-6-quarts/ - is only 6 Litres and $99 (plus shipping from US). I'd imagine Kegland could produce something similar for a lot less...

All I want is a stainless pot with a sealable lid... is this too much to ask god damn it!!! ;)

Why not just buy some used corny kegs and spunding valves, then ferment in those? You could easily do split batches without worrying about the headspace because you could just purge it if you were really worried

My vote is for the fermenting fridge. I hold grave fears for the longevity of mine.

I picked it up off the side of the road 11-12 years ago -- reckon I've got any chance of a warranty claim .

Any chance of getting the PREMIUM BALL LOCK DISCONNECT MFL (GREY/GAS) - WITH INTEGRATED CHECK VALVE
In a barb end instead of MFL which I call Mother Fckin Leaks?

Another +1 for an affordable Spike equivalent (maybe <$300 for 30l including tri clover fittings... not sure if this is doable!)

More immediately, Fermcap or some sort of anti-foam agent...

I've been looking at the 10in beer filtering system and have a question or two.
The info says its best for filtering cold un- carbonated beer. Does this mean it wouldn't be suitable for filtering beer from the new FermZilla thats been fermenting under pressure? I assume there would be some carbonation.
If its not suitable is there a product that is?
Thank you

Works fine, you just need head pressure on the receiving vessel so that the beer doesn't de-gas. I've just done this for 38L of carbonated Kolsch from the unitank, used a blow-tie on the keg gas post to provide the pressure.

FWIW I used reducers to add combo gas/liquid ball lock posts to my filter housing, gives me a bit more flexibility for purging and connecting to different FVs.

Also I jacked up the pressure in the unitank and receiving keg a bit above the pressure the beer had been carbonating at, worked very well.

Continuing from above while im here... Ill rattle off a few other things that im looking into.

- Temp Controller. That would be good. Needs PID though.
- Keg/fermenter Washer - The ss brewtech one at $250+ for a little stand and tiny pump is a big no thanks for me.. looking at diy'ing one soon.
- CIP accessories, for fermenters + kettles.
- 3V vessels - Mash tuns, Boil kettles etc.. For the bigger batch guys... Obviously you guys seem to be focusing on the robobrews - nothin wrong with that though and 3V may not be your jam. There are alternatives like CP which are pretty good in that department.
- Cheaper/Smaller Size G40.1

Also, not bashing SS brewtech stuff, its amazing stuff but just out of my price range.

Thanks for that. We do have an internet connected temp controller on the way and a smaller glycol chiller too so this is in the pipeline.

Yes some 3V vessel stuff is probably something that we should put some time into. It's a shrinking market with all the single vessel breweries but it's still something we should have some optoins for.

Thanks.

1) Im keen on seeing fermenter cooling options. I remember there was a post a while back pointing to a fermzilla coil accessory - That would be nice.. stainless?
I currently brew 60L - 120L at a time so fridge fermentation chambers would just take up too much room... currently have a diy glycol chiller with independent brewpiless temp controllers which circulates around my fermenters with vinyl tubing. Works great at ferm temps but cold crashing isnt as responsive as i would like - takes about 24 hours due to not much heat transfer ability.. Direct metal to wort contact would be alot better. The ss brewtech stuff is just too expensive.

There should be a market, everyone says get an old fridge as a ferm chamber (and i can see @donald_trub above pushing for the new fridge) which i agree is the easiest option and is good... but alot of people are going the jacketed glycol route now as well.

2) Pressurizable Stainless conicals... The fermizilla is great for the general homebrewer however if i have to drop $400 - $600+ on a couple of 55L fermzillas, i may as well go stainless. Spending that much money on a big coke bottle is a bit concerning for me whereas stainless will last forever.

Im impressed with Spike brewings conical range and would buy one tomorrow but no one in aus seems to import them.

Edit: ^^ Would be great if the fermzilla cooling coil was interchangeable over to the Kegmenter also. Have been looking at getting a kegmenter to use as a brite however cant find way of cooling without a frige. stainless coils to fit a 4 inch hole seem to be really expensive or i would have to get custom made.

Yes I think some stainless steel pressure fermenters is definitely a hole in the range and we will bring out some options here in the future.

How about a cheaper (ready-to-go) version of the TILT? I've always fancied one but a) can't justify the cost, and b) don't have the brain/patience to DIY it

We have not started on this but we would agree. This is something we should have a solution for. The idea is that the new temp controllers and temp control fridges with heating and cooling will eventually talk to a product like the TILT. This would enable some more clever logic between the two and log information up to the same server.
