Thanks to everyone for the encouragement... unfortunately we can't afford a bigger house to accommodate my beer brewing and drinking hobby, so I've brought a few of these. Just 4 to start with to see how I go.

Has anyone had experience with these kegs?

The same guy is also selling a dual tap font.

Does anyone know if these are any good? The look to be the same type as is sold by Keg King.

Cheers
Daniel

Have a search on here about those keg king kegs. They don't have food grade joins/welds, so if you get an infection it's virtually impossible to get rid of it. None of them are getting into my brewery.

Also that font is the same one Ross (craftbrewer) pulls of the the kegerators to put a better one one. None of them are getting into my brewery.

Shit I sound like a negative person so far in this thread. I like the idea of trying to find somewhere for the kegerator. The laundry, or a corner in the lounge?

A kegerator would be like Dr Who in that house! Maybe get a kegerator but clad it in timber and stain, look like a cabinet/chest with a font pushing out of the top.

How about room temp kegs and a glycol chilled font or a small miracle box, similar to your local pub?

Kev, I found the thread that you mentioned.

The keg king ones look similar to the one purchased by the OP in the other thread. I'm hoping that when mine arrive they are in better condition than the one purchased by the other guy, although feel that it's unlikely.

Let's see.

I have been trying to find a decent 9 litre keg for a while after stupidly selling my portable setup a few years ago. You can get brand new kegs delivered for around $150 each from America (When purchasing in multiples ie 2)

Works out if you buy in lots of 2 the shipping works out the best. $116 per keg plus $65 shipping. Maybe $50 each more but waaaay better quality.

EDIT

Totally missed the 11 litres which is cheaper - $100 each keg plus $65 shipping

Keifer, maybe good for a bulk buy if we can find enough people to make up an order of 75!

The first of the kegs turned up today. Looking inside it the weld joints look to be smooth: actually almost non existent when compared to the ones posted in earler threads. Lets see how the others look.

Now that I have a keg to fill, I don't rember feeling more excited about brewing since my first batch! Bring on the weekend.
