I have had a problem with gout and I have used filtration to reduce the yeast and thereby the purine.

I have been using essentially this method:

However it has occurred to me that the main objective is to stop yeast getting into my glass. Could I just instal the 1micron filter housing between the out of the keg and the tap? Filtering the beer as I draw it out?

Much in the same way people instal filter housings into which they infuse hops, to get that hoppy punch.
