Fellow Brewers,

I had a few James Squire Amber Ales on tap yesterday, and was very impressed!

Does anyone have a good all grain or partial recipe for this? Any were they able to get a good result?

I looked on the website and they indicate it is made with 3 malts; pale, crystal and cara pils.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew G

andrew G.. not the................

sorry. i'm pretty sure i've seen threads on this recipe before, a quick search should see you good.

Do a search on "squire amber" and you will find a number of threads on that very subject.

I have a recipe I have been fooling around with for a while now. When I get home I'll try to remember to post it. I wouldn't mind getting some opinions on it from you good folk.

On a tour of the brewery Chuck Hahn told me that it is made with 20% crystal malt  I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard him say that! But when I probed a bit further he said that included a lot of light crystal and carapils.

Anyway, I'll try to remember to post my recipe when I get home...

How ya doin

I have just finished a batch of James squire mock up. From the brew shop it was like this

Muntons blonde
1.5kg Amber Malt (I used light as he had no amber)
Fuggles finishing hops.
1052 safale yeast.

I found the hop seemed ok after it was conditioned for 3+ weeks. This beer started to go down really good, diddnt last long shes all gone, and I havnt put any down for chrissy. duh!!!

Ok, here is the recipe I mentioned. As I said, it hasn't been brewed yet, so I don't know if it is close or not to JSAA. Comments welcome and appreciated. :)

Hi TD

How did your JS Amber Recipe go?

I'm guessing you might have brewed it by now.

Cheers
