I have just entered my entire brewing inventory into Beersmith and was surprised the variety I carry.

5 different liquid yeasts
11 different grains
10 different hops
+ about 8 various adjunct ie sugars, flaked grains ect.

amazing how your ingredient list builds up as you progress. What about everyone else, have you found the same thing??

Andrew

I keep my inventory in a spreadsheet.

Currently I have
- 27 different types of grain equalling 69.6kg
- 26 different types of hops equalling 7.6kg
- up around 15 different yeasts

Beers,
Doc

about 20 different grains of over 75kg with another 100kg a few weeks away
1/2 doz in flaked stuff
10 varieties of hops totalling a couple of kilo
5 different yeast strains

my grain store(or silo!!) has blown out - opportunities for cheap grain were too good to refuse.

Jeebus this is a sobering question - especially since I still firmly put myself in the noob category.

Grains - about 15 different types - must be well over 75kg, and like roach I have even more on the way (from the same source I much suspect).
Plus about another 4 entries in the adjuncts category.

Hops - top of the head figure is 8, but I am sure I have missed some. And I still don't have any ekg or fuggles in stock, which is what I really want :( .
Must be couple kilos in there also.

Yeasts - only started farming, but including unsmacked packs up to about 7 viable strains.

How can it be that no matter what you have on hand, it is always something else you really need for the next brew?

I live 15 mins from the LHBS and work from home.

I let them (HBS) be my inventory. :D

my Ingredients ahs blown out also...

i have approx:
- 20 different grains totalling around 120kg
- 5kg of 15 different hops
- around 12 different yeasts
- flaked stuff wheat, spelt, granary malted flakes, barley, oats
- sugars - demeara, dark brown, lactose, dextrose
- 5 kg of liquid malt, 1 kg of dried extract...

plus lots of SS fittings and taps, kegs etc..

Man..

I must almost be a homebrew shop... B)

I've made an effort to cut back on the variety of stock I have. This reflects my move to simpler recipe formulation.

10 different grains (and will be less once some have been used up)
4 different hops
5 different yeast (this is a lot for me, I now try and get a fresh smack pack when I want to brew and only use it 2 or 3 times at the most - at $10.50 per smack pack fresh healthy yeast is cheap).

Cheers
MAH
