Just went to use my Inkbird temp controller (Inkbird ITC-310T-B) and its showing Err on the display when I turn it on. I’ve sent Inkbird a PM but need to use it today so does anyone know how or if these can be reset?

When I switch it on everything looks fine on both the top PV display and bottom SV display but only for exactly 11 seconds. Then the bottom display goes blank and the top shows Err. I can press the set button, enter setup and change the settings ok but still get Err exactly 11 seconds after switching it off then the power back on .

Has anyone else had this or any ideas how to re set?

Sounds like a sensor issue, have you tried a new sensor?
Would a faulty sensor work for 11 seconds before showing error? I have had faulty sensors on oven thermometers and they don’t work at all and show error as soon as they are switched on.

It is displaying ambient temp 20c correctly for 11 seconds before showing Err and the alarm sounding. If I switch the power off and hold the sensor to warm it up it shows over 30c when I switch it back on. When I put the sensor in the fridge it shows 4.2c for 11 seconds after being switched back on.

This is a spare controller that I don’t use much since getting the wifi version. It was not used for months until a few weeks ago when I set up a dehydrator to dry hops. It was working fine then but when I plugged it in yesterday it wasn’t.

Could it still be sensor error if the unit works for 11 seconds after being plugged in?

Hello, I have the same problem, did you solve it ?

No it couldn’t be reset. Inkbird got back to me and as mine was just outside the warranty they told me to buy another one. Is your within warranty?

No I'm in the same case, I bought the inkbird 2,5 years ago. It seems the probe can be changed :

I bought an inkbird unit as my first temp controller. It had a manufacturing fault that is well known by the company but they refuse to recognize it as would have to recall and refund a ton of units based on how common the issue seems to be - and some people might sue them for damage to their temp control fridge due to unnecessary compression cycles - wrecked mine.

If you need to buy a new unit anyway - get one made by someone else would be my suggestion, Inkbird don't seem like the most honest company.

Once again an Inkbird PID has let me down. I purchased three of them 2years ago and the first I wired has ran faultlessly for those couple of years and the other which I wired up for a fellow brewer have failed within 12mths. The first problem if anyone has some electronic ideas reads oral which I believe is a sensor problem and I tried on my system and it still read oral. Can it be fixed and how to fix it? My second problem with the second PID is that it comes up LOC as soon as you try to change the temp again this is from a fellow brewer who accidently locked it and I have tried to unlock but I can't get passed the LOC. Any ideas on how to fix this problem or should just chuck them and buy from a more reputable company.
