Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me if this recipe sounds alright for an Imperial Red Ale ???

Infusion Mash @ 86 degrees for 90 minutes in 3 litres
600g Caramunich Malt
100g Dark Crystal Malt
200g Wheat Malt
150g Munich Malt
150g Flaked Barley

7kg LME

60 min boil: 100g Cascade Hop cones, 80g Hallertau Hop cones
30 min boil: 80g Hallertau Hop cones
10 min boil: 10g Hallertau Hop cones.

Topped up with water to 23 litres

OG - 1080

If the recipe sounds alright, could someone run it through Pro-Mash so I can see what IBU's this will give me ???

Cheers,
David

Slip of the fingers there GL... Yea. 68 degrees.

Using 5.75% AA Cascade and 4% AA Hallertau you get 110 IBU. Also using the ingredients listed you get an OG of 1.100.

Beers,
Doc

Cheers Doc. My efficiency must be up the sh*t. I only got 1080.

Come on winter. Brewing this extract monster next weekend. Kinda borrowed some ideas from the Northern Brewer 'Jump the Shark' recipe but with a few tweets. Big hop and malt, perfect for a cold Melbourne winter. Bugger all info about this beer on the interweb, but could be the next big thing!?

Edit: cannot figure how to get info copied from BeerSmith to the blog: PDF attached (kind poor quality)
