Hi all,
I got some grain, Wyeast 2007, Saaz hops and dry light malt extract to try and make one of these lagers.
What IBU should I be looking at for this style. I know I could look around on the net but hopefully lots of AHB members will give me an answer.
Thanks in advance.

cheers

I do mine around the 35-40 IBU mark, which is about the same as James Squire Pilsner.

Beers,

Thanks for the quick reply everybody.
I'll probably try and make it to about 30 Ibu's. Somewhere between an aussie and czecThanks h.
That may all change of course when i get the boil going. Typical me trying to make a style I havent tried for lots of years. Really cant remember how they are supposed to taste. Suppose I can always pick a couple of something or other up at the shop later and try them.

Grab a James Squire Pilsner Johnno

I believe this is not a true pilsner , but tastes bloody good to me

Some people really do not like saaz hops , so you better sample one first

:chug: :chug: :chug:

Good excuse to have a dig around the bottle shop too :p

Will do Batz,
Gotta go out later on this freezing day. I'll get the JS.
I have to try as many hop varieties as I can so I know what I like for later.
I've got one lager on now with the Hallertau hop. I went to the HBS to get some Saflager 34/70. The bloke there just started throwing all this stuff at me.
So I purchased a bit more that I really wanted to. :D
Poor old guinea pig me.

cheers
