Hydrometer Tube thingy

Mine got a little to close to the action (heat wise) and now it's a little out of shape.

Can someone recommend a suitable replacement?

I would really like glass, but I think we all know how that will end..

Are there any fancy plastic ones about?

I did the same thing to mine & it turned into a banana haha

I went to my LHBS & asked if they had any - none new on the shelf but the owner had a "2nd-hand" one out the back that must've had its contained hydrometer broken or something.

So maybe try your LHBS

I did that a few times, plus I broke a few hydros because the plug wasn't in the bottom and stupid gravity sucked them onto the garage floor.

Got a schmick thick plastic test tube thingy from the brew shop and it handles the heat fine.

Forget plastic and get something that will last you forever (until you drop it). Also zero issues about temperature or cooling the sample if need be

I'm tempted..It's just the dropping it part I don't like..
