Hi All,

First post here but i'm struggling to source hungarian oak chips and cubes to use in the fermenter and kegs.
I can find American and French in Aus easily but cant find Hungarian. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

they have a minimum which is well above what he wanted.
i have a small stash that i shared

Hungarian oak tastes very similar to French (being the exact same tree, Quercus robur), the main difference is that it's cheaper
I highly doubt you'd be able to note any differences in a beer, I'd just use French if it's available

have to disagree there. its more in the middle of american and french. its also harder to over oak with.

Fair enough, it tasted similar the one time I've used it but to each their own

it all depends on the toast level and duration.
