Doing some sums for my 2008 brew schedule. Will keg from (say) March when the shed empties of bottled beer - quick question - about to buy some cornies to start process, how many litres of beer goes into the standard corny (If different sizes, I'll be buying the ones Ross is selling) ?

In the immortal words of John Schumann from Redgum.
I was only '19'

I thought it was 19litres for schweepes kegs...

and 21 for corny;s from the US...

Quoted from ross's website:

"Keg - 19L Cornelius (Used)"

or

"Keg - 9 litre Cornelius (New)"

EDIT: spelink... also most people use the 19l ones they are cheaper and bigger

So you fill them to the brim (19 litres of brew) or is there head space (say 18 litres of brew plus headspace).

Please be specific.

Bloke I can get 19 litres in with adequate headspace (the gas dip tube is not submerged).
Cheers
Doug

+1 - 19L to the weld line where the top meets the sides -

Maple

There are also 18l kegs that are a bit shorter than the regular corny's. I have one of each and a squat new 23l.
