Had a delivery of crushed grain this morning and one of the vacuum-packed bags had lost its seal and was open inside the box. I'm planning a brew on Sunday so I was wondering if it'll still be OK to brew with given that it'll have been open to the air for a few days if I keep it dry.

Would it be better off in the fridge or just a dark cupboard?

Definitely dark cupboard, should be OK for a couple of days.

I often found the seal had released a little, Aussie post is rough on parcels at times. No probs brewing on Sunday, particularly if the bag is not wide open. Oh yea dark and dry place to store would be good.

Cheers
Gav.

Keep it dry and a even a week or so would not hurt.

It is wide open but I've just folded it over a bit and put in in the box in a dark corner of the garage. Might move the brew forward to Saturday just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the advice.

One retailer here has stated that, even when vacuum sealed, such grain bags probably still have enough air inside to allow for spoilage.

I wouldn't stress about it.
