hi guys, just looking for a hop suggestion

put down a coopers unreal ale a few months back

coopers real ale
be1
500g ldme


i would like to brew this one again but with some hops this time to maybe balance it out abit, i dont want anything too in your face but just a fairly subtle addition

Without knowing your preferences, If it were me, I'd add 20g EKG as dry hop. Maybe 30g.

+1 for the EKG, but I'd look at boiling 15-20gm in 2 litres of water(left out of original amount) for about 10 minutes and adding to fermenter about day 5....


dont worry about hop utilization and making up a 1040sg mix to boil in. Doing the above will give a nice subtle flavour hit to your kit.

Ive used this very same process with Coopers lager and cluster, works a treat, simple and no fancy gear needed....boil, strain..easy.



Dry hopping is only going to give aroma which wont do much for balancing flavour.
