Getting ready for Berliner Weiss for when it starts to warm up. Sweet Woodruff plant should be ready then for home made woodruff syrup.

Is the woodruff a bittering alternative? What flavour does it impart?
 
cost me 50 for two bottles from germany postage was the killer.were did you get the plant? reman taste of it's own.

It's part of the 'traditional way' of drinking Berliner Weisse. Have a look at the Wikipedia article for a bit of a small explanation.

It's basically a flavouring (like a cordial I guess).

I've not done it myself, I do a secondary directly on fruit.
 
I found it at a local nursery. Grows pretty fast. You can also get seeds in the post. Also doubles as a nice low maintenance ornamental.
