hervey bay area

hi Folks,
I'm applying for a job in Maryborough near Hervey bay.
Is there any brewers in the area, and what's it like to live there?
Is there much to do at the weekends?
I currently live on the Gold Coast, so unsure if it would be too isolated.

Camping on Fraser Island is a good way to spend a weekend. Good fishing, great lakes for swimming in and lots of nice walks.
