Help!

Hi al,
I have had a CFC from Goliath for a while now and really need to get it working.
Problem is I dont know what all the extra bits I need are. Like the connections for the hoses etc.
Here is a pic of NRB's chiller with all the extras. Mine is the same sort.
When you get it its just the basic copper in hose setup. Can anyone help with what these bits are called or where I can get them?

I think I got the 3/8 compression fittings from Vic Fitting Sales but you could also use solder connections. I might even have a couple kicking around in the garage. You are welcome to drop by and check it out up close.

I am supprized Goliaths would sell the CFC like that Johnno , I know they sell the other bits as well , give them a call perhaps the bits where missed when posted out to you.

They offer an extra compression fitting to go into the ball valve on your kettle for a few more dollars. Otherwise play around with some barbed fittings vinyl hose and hose clamps

I looked on Goliath's website. From what I could see the chiller should work straight out of the box. If not give them a call I'm sure they'd help you out.

Johnno, I don't have any pics to help you out but here's what i bought for my goliath chiller:

- some black plastic hose fitting adapters to go from the "hollow" tpiice to the garden Hose (I'll have a look tonight to tell you the sizes). This is for the water in, and water out holes.
- some standard tap fittings to screw into the black adapters, and connect to the garden hose.
- the rest depends on how you're connecting your CFC to your kettle / pump / hosing. On the wort inlet, I used a S/S fitting with female on both sides so that I could screw in a Male Quick disconnect fitting.

Mine looks a little less sophisticated (read: i don't have the skills the other guys do) than the above pics

Thanks for the help everybody. I paid sosman a visit yesterday and had a look at his CFC.
I will make a trip to the Purple Pig ( hose and connector fittings specialists) next week sometime with my CFC and kettle tap and hopefully sort the mess out there.

Johnno, I have one of those & I picked up all the connections at Bunnings. For the hose connections I used a 1/2 to 3/4 brass converter with a male Neta brass snap-on hose connection & the connection to the kettle is another 1/2 to 3/4 brass converter that screws straight on to the ball valve. Not sure if I described that very well but I can send yousome pix if you like.

That's what I thought when I bought it. I was pissed off I had to purchase "extras" to get the thing working without any prior warning. Seriously, either let people know on the website or ship it fully assembled with an increased pricetag.

I only just stumbled across this thread Johnno and it looks like you're going to have things sorted fairly easily.
