G'day folks,

Did a pils yesterday late into the night, got it down to 17 degrees really fast with a plate chiller. The target pitch temp was 9 deg so I left the fv on the cold concrete floor in the shed and aerated this morning at 9.5 degrees

I bottled my first pils the other day and kept the yeast slurry that had about a litre of beer on top. when I went to take some yeast from it today (and in doing so removing the beer first) I found it was all mixed up, so instead of being patient and racking the slurry into a small pot and cooling down more to get a compact yeast layer, I scooped 500 mls of yeast and beer into my perfect pils wort....

There was about 2.5ltrs of beer and yeast I presume about 1.5 to 1 ltr was actual beer

I am thinking I should cool down the remaining slurry to get a cake and just pitch actual yeast

What say yee?
