Help! Tasting Yeast

i just opened my jar of saved yeast slurry and it smells fine,
i tasted it and it tastes fine apart from slight tang/fizz on end of tongue?
is this normal? first time tasting yeast

about to pitch in fresh wort thats the reason for the HELP!

This would be enough for me.

Not got your tongue on your yeast but suggesting carbonation from the yeasty liquid might be the cause of fizz.

Make a starter (you should anyway) and smell/taste that.
