Hi all,

I'm in the Hills District area of Sydney. I urgently need to get CO2 for my keezer for hosting a party tomorrow.

My brand new 2.6kg Keg King bottle emptied out after hooking up a new keg late last night and not checking all of my connections :(

I've tried calling the local Country Brewer stores and neither are answering. Looks like Absolute Homebrew are on holidays according to their website.

Any suggestions amigos?

Try ESBrewing.com.au or cooperage homebrew?

If they are open and can't exchange your cylinder, then consider buying a soda stream adapter and a small cylinder (or get one from target etc).

The good thing with a soda stream adapter is that you can sourc cylinder swaps from regular shops.

Thanks Pratty1. I won't make it to Ultimate Homebrew in time.
Great idea Stux re the adapter. I'll see if I can find one today as a backup.

I've had zero luck today.

Found an aquarium place that could do refills but they said my thread wasn't right for their filler.

Does anyone know of any home brew shops open tomorrow (Wednesday) morning?

Or anywhere else I could get a KegKing 2.6kg bottle filled or swapped?

I'm at the point where I'd even buy another bottle just to get it up and running. Desperate!

Just posted in Buy & Sell in the event someone happens to be offloading a cylinder with gas in it or has the ability to fill the bottle and charge me for it.

I am in the Hills mate. Come round and borrow my CO2 bottle. I have it hooked up to a beer at the moment because my in laws were over for Christmas but they went home this afternoon (yay).....no problem to disconnect for a few days. I will drink my bottled wheat beer.

Send me a Pm and we will sort it. Complete unit, ready to go less the connector and CO2 line.....that is in the fridge wall.

In Castle Hill no doubt given your handle :) I've been in 2153 for most of my life, now in 2152.

I was very paranoid about that. I managed to isolate the leak but lost a little gas in the process. I have a push-in type non-return valve that was leaky (discovered after submerging in water). Replaced the tubing and it was fixed. The strange thing is that it was air-tight at some point so not sure what changed. Think I'll replace it with a barb-type one.

I'll get the cylinder topped up before I return it Anthony. The party was a huge success - thanks a tonne!!!! I hope I can return the favour some time.

Please don't worry about filling the cylinder mate.....it will be fine. You can't have used that much, seriously. Take your tank in and fill that instead.

I believe in karma, what goes around comes around.

Just following on this, rather than starting a new subject. I need my co2 cylinder filling! Ideally for the weekend. Not suggesting anyone lends me a cylinder. Can anyone point me to a place? Went into the hop and grain in marrickville - he said they don't refill, only do the swap. Mine isn't a keg king cylinder and so basically a swap isn't an option.

Edit. Ok, think I've found a place nearby, an aquarium shop.

I'm sure country brewer swap kegking bottles, atleast I know the one at Kingswood does, should be listed on the kegking site though.

ED:eek:k could be wrong there ! neither site list anything about refills, I had a mykegonlegs cylinder and used to swap at Absolute home brew in St Marys or a bove both places carried both cylinders but neither refill onsite, though a quick call to them would sort you out as where you could get it sorted.

Bah. Just took it to the aquarium shop, went home and just got a call saying it wouldn't fill. So that's me without a feckin cylinder all weekend.

Part of me thinks I should just throw some money at a Keg King one so I can do a swap'n'go on it and then at least there's a number of places I can just get it swapped. But there's nothing wrong with this cylinder, it just seems to be a massive hassle to fill the bastard. I remember trying to get it filled up in Darwin and the number of gas refilling places (Supagas, for example) who wouldn't refill it for absolutely no good reason (it wasn't over 10kg).

esb doesn't fill any more????

Not sure but I've gone and bought a bottle from the hop and grain in marrickville. No more pissing around, I'll just take one bottle into the shower with me and just swap'n'go(!). I'll stick my other bottle on gumtree. Someone else will probably find use for it!
