Im going to try my first extract brew i was wondering if anyone had a good recipe i could try my go to beer is cpa but i dont care what type of beer i make i like all types as long its not over the top in the hop department any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try searching for Neil's Centenarillo Ale (I hope I've got that one right). That seems to be a pretty popular extract brew and has has some pretty good feedback. Also wander through the recipe database and filter via extract.

Cheers SJ

Dr Smurto's Golden ale has an extract version in the recipe BD. Top rated beer in the database so I would say that qualifies as a good beer.

For a good (IMO) & easy extract beer, the RE Weizen in the recipe DB is a pretty good jumping off point. Nothing to intricate and a pretty sessionable beer that's good to drink a week after bottling

I do a CPA clone I like and It is simple..

7litre boil..
2kg coopers dry malt extract.
.5 kg dex
100g crystal steeped 30 min.

10g POR @60 10%AA
10g any hop @10 min (I like Golden cluster)

You can leave out the 10min addition if you like.
You can add more POR at 60min to if you leave out the 10min addition.
Some will say this is not bitter enough but I find it quite nice.

Note use coopers dry malt as it seems to give the best result.

Drinking this one (cluster) now and loving it..

Cheers

Edit 700g malt and steepings in the boil. and US-05 yeast.

Why use bought yeast if you can use a re-cultured coopers pale ale yeast. If you can make a brew you can make a yeast. It also gives me an excuse to buy a beer I love when I've got heaps of HB at home. Well my missus thinks its a fair reason anyway!!
