ok i have Hoephner pils and wheat malt and WLP300 wefeweizen yeast, was planing on 55% wheat and 45% pils for the hefewizen, 1.048 bittered to 12 IBU with hellertau or tetnanger.
dunkelwizen is a bit up in the air as far as ingredients go.
was thinking of using 44% IMC munich, 44% wheat malt and 8% crystal wheat at 130 EBC.
should give 1.050, 16 IBU and about 18 EBC, which is lighter than the minimum listed colour for the style.
Guidelines say 28 to 45 EBC.
how dark are these dunkelweizens meant to be, 30 EBC is fairly dark.
Anyone got any sugestions on ingredients or experience brewing them ?
