Arrived home from work today to find that my wife had brought me a little pressie. I must say I was impressed. Just thought I might share my new found treasure with others. :p

GK, hang on to that woman. What a treasure. Looks like she knows a bit about beer also.

And the wattle beer too.

Kai.

I tried the Black Wattle Superior Wattleseed Ale the other day. No wattle flavour to speak of, though they say they add toasted wattle seeds. Think that may be a bit of selling hype. ;)

Deep Amber colour, caramel, biscuity malts (seems to be a fair bit of Munich and dark Xtal) sort of American Brown Ale/Amber Ale in style with far less hops. Not a bad beer but not really a great one. I suspect fermented with Wyeast 1056 or similar. Very neutral profile.

Your wife's a top sort.

I think I can see one of my favourite beers Weihenstephaner kristal

HK, you are indeed a lucky man!

You have a couple of beers there that I haven't seen before. Where did your wife find the beers?

Not bad at all.

Only one dog in that there batch, IMHO (and experience). No names, but!

Actually I'm in the market for another missus, since the Dragon smashed the Erdinger World Cup weizen glass. How much for your woman? Wouldn't offend you with a trade-in.
No deal, eh? Nah, I wouldn't part with her either.

No offence intended, I'm sure.

LOL, as thoughtful as my better-half is, she doesn't know diddly-squat about beer. She'd as soon rock on home with a 6 pack of Foster's Special as anything...

OK, so I'm prone to exaggeration, but I wouldn't be scoring any Weihenstephaner, that's for sure.

Over and out.

HK.....how much is that new dress going to cost you...LOL

They are cooling in the fridge ATM. So tonight I might have to sample a couple.

Weizguy,

No chance of a swap mate... be silly to let this one go. :p

Busboy,

She got them from Here

therook,

Seems she wants a little holiday in March to Cairns, maybe she is softening me up...

She also got me this, but I am not supposed to know.

Doc, get your eyes tested. That's Geelong.

HK, one present cancels out the other  . Good score on the beers though.

bconnery,

you can purchase McChoufe from Transporter which is at Federation Square in melbourne, they have over 150 beers on site.

Doc

fancy even putting Carlton in the same sentance as the mighty Cats.

As for Rugby, even a melbourne side is leading the way...Go Storm

My wife came home the other Sunday with a brand new GMC Cordless Drill for me  Never had a drill before. I was very excited. I think the fact that ive been promising to put a shelf up in the laundry to remove all my crap out of reach but didnt have a drill might have had something to do with her generosity though.

Will do. I had 2 of them and tried one a while back. Unfortunately I do not ususally take tasting notes but I may for the second one. I did think it was pretty good though. Liked the hops used.

I've had this one sitting arond for a while and it just does not call me enough for me to drink it. Like Warren has said, it is probably more of a hype than anything else.
