Anybody got a G40? A few questions?

I was looking at a video and it seemed that the flow from the pump kept the entire grain bill suspended in the water and in constant motion.

Is this correct?

Is there no grain bed to filter the wort?

Does it produce clear wort? Not that it's an important feature.

Is it full volume or do you sparge?

If you sparge how do you distribute the sparge water without the top plate?

Thanks all.

Thanks dib, but it doesn't really answer my question.

Does the flow from the recirculation tube get all the grain into suspension in the water?

But if does cover sparging :)

Few guys I know have bought one they are a great price.

Answers are;

It is not in suspension there is still downward flow or what would the point be.

There is in the picture in the manual, it would fall out of the basket otherwise.

yes

sparge, in the manual

If you sparge how do you distribute the sparge water without the top plate?
You need to fly sparge not batch sparge due to the nature of the overflow.

Thanks dib, I was looking at a YouTube video (the font of all truth) that seemed to show all the grain circulating in the water.
I was not asking about the grain plate, the grain bed is a stationary layer of grain that would lay on top of the grain plate and filter the wort.
