Hey guys,

Just need some advice re: ginger is a jar.

I put down a ginger beer 2 weeks ago and was about to rack into a secondary and CC - I thought about adding some more ginger to the 2ndry and just grabbed a jar of fresh ginger - my question is, can I just chuck it straight into the 2ndry as I would think it would already be safe to do or should I boil it first?

I would think that boiling would take away the flavour? :(

I don't think you'll find any bugs in a freshly opened jar of anything. If you did, there'd be popped jars all over our supermarket shelves.

I thought the same thing, but I just wanted some reassurance before I chucked it in  Thanks
