I did one recently with a kilo of DME and dry hopped with 25gs of Motueka.
Was lovely

When I did kits, coopers english bitter was my favorite. For me I would use kit plus tin of lme, make a hop tea with something not too strong like sazz, and do a dry hop too.

If your aiming for an English bitter try some EKG hops, styrian goldings or fuggles.
