What are the big differences between galaxay malt and a pale ale malt?

I am about to place an order and i dont know if i should get that grain or stick with pale ale malt.

Q. Where are you getting Galaxy malt? AFAIK, they stopped making it a year or two ago ...

Oh, OK- missed that. Should get some local brewers all barred up. :icon_cheers:

Edit: I wonder if it is actually the same stuff...

from memory gallaxy is lighter than the pale and actually the same colour as the pils. Haven't brewed with it but I'd suggest that its probably closer in flavour to the pils as well by kilning it at lower temps.

so nev its victorian based and is it more a pale ale malt then a pilsner malt?

I am wonder if it will go well with veinna and chocolate for a amber.

I thought it's forte was its diastatic powers (like superman).

Otherwise it's just the same old kittielitter flavoured aussie crap - but it'll make a mean VB.

IIRC MHB said it's forte was being high in beta amylase.

B-Glucanase
It is high (but not stellar) in amylase but its forte is its ability to handle lots of un-malted adjunct.
Its been back for a couple of months.
