    Hi all

Not sure if this is the done thing or not - but its for a good cause.

My daughter has decided to do a fundraiser for cancer - on 30 November she is going to shave her head and donate her hair for wigs for cancer sufferers.

We all seem to know someone who has been affected by cancer. For us it was my dad who passed away about 18 months ago from Prostate cancer.

My daughter has done a number of cancer fundraisers and has a genuine committment to the cause.

If you could spare some coin and would like to donate the link is below - it would be greatly appreciated.

Certainly is a good cause, my wife was recently diagnosed with stage four Mantle Lymphoma, the cancer was in the lymph nodes, ribs, pelvis, bone marrow and spleen. After 3 treatments (half way through) of combined chemo and immunotherapy drugs the latest PET scan revealed no signs of cancer, even though there could be minute cells still present, it is a very good result.

Big Thanks to @wide eyed and legless for his generous donation.

There have been a couple of other random and anonymous donations that I believe have been from the brewing community.

I do love this community - thank you all for your support.

WOW - thanks largely to the generosity of the homebrew community she quickly passed her initial target of $500 and has increased her goal to $1000. (she's currently at $676)

Its a bit exciting how big this is potentially getting - we are now talking about hosting a charity dinner for the night she does the actual shave on the 30 November. If we can rustle up some prizes we will also do an online charity raffle. Will post here if it gets to that.

Otherwise if you haven't already donated and wish to support please do. Here's the link again.

Whatever you give is tax deductible! lets get Brianna over the line, she is willing to shave her head the least we can do is support her cause. It benefits the community.

    Thanks @tramsjoe you're a legend.

She's getting closer to the $1000 target...

Personally I think we can smash it. I haven't even started to put the hard word on family and friends yet.

More than half of the amount raised so far has come from the home brew community.

My wife was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma when she was pregnant with our daughter. Chemo went extremely well, and 7 1/2 years on still in the clear. Daughter is coming up on her 7th birthday - and she couldn't be more amazing. Happy to help kick the goal!
