Fridge Vs Freezer

I'm setting up fridge to ferment and later keg my brews, so I bought a thermostat controller on the weekend. I plugged it in with the fridge and cranked it down to 5deg. About 2 hours later my RCD tripped and after much investigation I narrowed it down to the old fridge I had been messing with :angry: . Anyway, SWMBO suggested that I should just go out and buy a better one anyway (its a pretty scary fridge), so I'm now looking around for a second hand fridge - hopefully for around $150-200.

Is there any advantage in getting a chest freezer over a fridge ?

I have a fridge with a controler , very happy with it ...BUT
I can only fit one fermenter and two CC jerrys in there
I would love a large chest freezer 300 Lt plus , If you can find one go that way
