So what's the tips?
Who's gonna win possibly the best F1 series in a while, since that arrogant german is no longer in it?
My tip's on kimi again, don't think the mclaren has the go for fernando this year...

Yep Kimi's year, was so pissed about alonso winning last year and kimi, michael and webber doing ********* :(

Unfortunately I think the car to beat will still be the Renault. Kovalanien (sp?) could prove a surprise and Fisichella's no slouch either.

Be good to see Kimi go well, and Webber too, but the RB won't be any better than a "best of the rest"

Dunno, there was a lot of talent showing thru last year, it's gonna be a tough one this year, ofcourse I tipped Webber because thats who I WANT to win!

I think it'll be a great season, lots of new guys coming up, lots to prove, could be good for fireworks.. just a pity montoya left, could have been his year..;)

I for one am glad the dominance of ferrari is over ( temporarily some might say ) cause nothing puts me to sleep quicker than 83 late night "parade" laps. What a great difference a bit of pressure made to schumachers game. mistakes that were "uncharacteristic", but its easy to be perfect when you are not driving as hard as the other bloke..

Valentino Rossi in Motogp left Honda for Yamaha after winning the world championship when clearly the honda was a quicker bike, and his nemisis Biaggi left Yamaha for Honda in the same year and the next year VALENTINO WON THE CHAMPS AGAIN!!
:super:

if he had any guts, i reckon schumacher would have joined williams (or maybe even minardi). if he could win races then i would be converted totally into a M.S. fan, but i believe he has no love of a challenge..

:dons flame retardent suit for the inevitable: :p

Thinking Raikkonen only cause he seemed to have a lot of bad luck in the last couple of years. Should be close though, there is not much between him and alonso. I willbe going for webber though of course , maybe im biased but i like the bloke! Love to see him get a win.

Man, what about his last lap or second last lap suspension failure at high speed!! He has copped a lot of bad luck for some reason..

You make a good point Capretta, but i don't think it's as simple as that, motogp depends on the rider sooo much more than the driver of a f1 car. The engineers win it for the drivers really, i think rossi is/was dominating his sport more than schumi coz of how much the rider has to do.
It would have bee interesting to see what the world champ could do with a minardi tho :)

Well, first race down.. anyone wanna jump on the kimi bandwagon yet? LOL.... Interesting race kinda. Didn't expect the ferrari to win so convincingly. And just what the hell was DC thinking with that "passing" move?

I'm not throwing a parade yet but it was a convincing margin, and for Massa to get 6th from last on the grid - the other teams may have some catching up to do. Quali aside - he was (arguably) better than Kimi for most of the weekend.

Well so much for my predictions - Renault 5th & 10th and I picked the wrong rookie - how about that Hamilton - nearly showed up the world champ.

Webber did well but his race fell apart - as it so often seems to.

Looking forward to Malaysia - 8 April

Season's gettinog older... anyone want to change bets?
I seriously never thought hamilton would go as well as he has..
Has been an interesting season so far...

All the politics of it can get too much sometimes. Ferrari are now guaranteed the constructors title thanks to McLaren's exclusion. Yet the drivers (from McLaren) are allowed to continue to fight - what a crock. I understand from a commercial point of view why it's played out this way, but from a sporting perspective they should be equally punished.

Back to topic - It's going to take more legal action or a McLaren DNF or two for it not to be a silver-clad driver at the top after Brazil. Which one? Has any driver ever been Champion in their inaugural season? We might well see it late this October.

Cheers,

microbe

Jacques Villeneuve won in his second year of F1, I'd have to dig deeper to see if anyone nabbed the crown in their 1st year ut.

tdh

Yeah, glad McLaren got what they deserved, but I'm divided over the driver's points.

Part of me says they should be stripped 'coz they've had the advantage of a car from a team found to be cheating, but, then there's the problem that neither driver has done anything wrong and they would effectively be punished for being innocent.
I don't think stripping the drivers of their points, considering they were not involved in the wrong-doing, would be very sporting.
Dunno, 'tis a tough one.

I think alonso was involved was he not? and dela rossa???
