First time harvest

Hey people

After a couple years in the ground my hop plants have produced a pretty good crop 1 Columbus plant and 1 EastKentGoldings plant I got a couple of buckets of eachView attachment 60917

So before I use them I boiled 2 flowers in a pot of water to see if they even give off bitterness and check out the colour they give offView attachment 60917
It looks more red than the photo shows.anyways what on earth does everyone do with all these hops I don't think I'll ever be able to brew this much beer in a season IMG_20130305_185124.jpg

Do a 'harvest ale'...%5.8-%6, bitter at 60 mins with a neutral and known (AAU) commercial hop, throw the rest in late. Enjoy.
