I had a stuck or stalled brew , the first in 15 years

used an old can , 9 months old , of kit beer with supplied yeast

stopped at 1018 after 9 days

stirred it up

the next day had not moved much

increased heat from 22 degrees to 26 degrees and has now moved to 1014

unfortunately it now has a white film on top

I am thinking of bottling brew

27 litres in fermenter

I bulk prime and was going to run the beer until it is about 4 litres left above the tap

the film I assume it is mould ( yeast and mould are in similar families )

will I survive

You won't die from the micro-organisms but god knows why you'd waste the time unless the beer tastes amazing.

You may find yeast wakes up and breaks glass though - anything from messy floors and walls to lacerations and eye injuries for you and yours.

You've been around long enough to know this and to take your own risks.

My first intention was to toss it

then thought sometimes the question not asked may turn out to be the stupid one

thanks
