Hi

After completing a number of extract brews, I am looking at doing my first partial mash and am planning to do something based off the Dr Smurto Golden Ale.

Does this recipe look ok??

300g Crystal
650g Pale Malt (2 Row)
1kg Munich Malt
1kg Wheat Malt

These will all be mashed at 66 degrees for an hour in a smallish eski I will sparge through a kitchen colander for a total boil volume of around 11 litres.

Hop as appropriate

Late addition of 1.5kg (1 tin) of LME.

I figure this will be around 1.048 and finish around 1.012

Thoughts????

Looks fine.

I'd consider reversing the amounts of wheat and pale.

I did a few partials when I stepped up from extracts - once I started mashing more than 2 kg of grain, I realised I was so close to full mash, I might as well bite the bullet.
