For all who are interested, I have found a supplier in the Canberra area, who is continually sending ex fire extinguishers out as scrap.
They are available to the HB fraternity if they want them. A mixture of 2 and 3.5Kg cylinders are always available.
Further, if the bottle is out of, or near date, he will pressure test for about $20, supply a new trigger for about $28, and fill a 3.5 Kg bottle with (BOC, and hence food grade) CO2 for $14. (These figures were discussed informally as a matter of conversation.... Prices will be formalised if tere is sufficient interest).
