I normally no chill and often pour out 4L ish for a hop steep and chill the rest of the cube so when you combine them in the fermenter you got wort roughly at pitching temp (as described somewhere on AHB)

Any way I took to chucking the cube in the fridge a few days before I planned to do the hop steep which meant the wort developed a good chill haze. The last batch I chucked some gelatin in the cube, same was as you would use it post fermentation. It cleared up really nicely.

Finished beer was about 95% as clear as if I'd used gelatin post fermentation but I bottled this batch and the yeast in the bottles compacted properly and didn't do the normal thing it does when you use gelatin.

Has anyone else tried this? Definitely has some advantages if your process allows for it
