A new system used in newcastle (UK) that takes fingerprints to
identify underage drinkers etc. This is a page from fridays Journal
(Newcastle) that has surfaced. Look at the picture on the right (girl
pointing at the screen).

You will need to increase the document size to make out the comment on
screen under "member info" but apparently it reads easily in the
newspaper!!

I wonder if she knows what is listed there ??

nifty

Wonder if she has grounds to sue either the paper or the club for defamation or similar?

It wouldn't surprise me to see clubs abuse it like that. Horrible places with horrible beer.

Maybe she's a poultry fancier

Hmmm.... Tongue in cheek Geordie humour.

Perhaps "The Cock" is a pub??

My guess is that it has either been photoshopped or she was probably in on it.

Firstly, she's wearing the exact same clothes in her profile pic - so it was only just taken. Given that she has a clipboard etc in the pic (and it's obviously daytime) I'd say she's probably a staff member - either of the club, the fingerprint system or the newspaper. If it was actually entered into the computer at the time I'd bet she was aware of it and having a laugh. I can just see the photographer saying, "just type something there mate, anything, you won't be able to read it"...

If it did actually go to print like that I'm sure there are some 'intense' meetings going on at the newspaper!

I used to work for a nameless magazine... I once let a typo go, went like this.

Two words were... "EUROPEAN COUNT".

Hint: I forgot an "o" on a the second word.

My boss told me that I was a silly bunt. True story

Yeah, that sounds like the sensible explanation.

Don't let a sensible suggestion get in the way of a good story.
